Employee Benefits

 In 2001, every two seconds someone in this country suffered an accidental injury.  About 11.5 million Americans require long-term care services with more than one-third of all costs coming out of the families’ pockets; and the average nursing home care cost is $50,000 per year.  Finally, about every 29 seconds an American will suffer a coronary event.  The AFLAC insurance policies help supplement primary health plan by providing direct-to-the-policyholder cash benefits to help fill gaps in traditional health insurance coverage or in some instances in lieu of health coverage.  You, the company, offer these benefits and your employees can participate through payroll deduction.  The supplemental insurance policies provided by AFLAC:

Accident/Disability The Personal Accident Indemnity Plan pays benefits in the event of a covered person’s death, dismemberment or injury caused by a covered accident that occurs on or off the job.

Cancer Upon diagnosis, the Personal Cancer Indemnity Plan provides a first occurrence benefit, hospital confinement, radiation, chemotherapy and surgical benefits among an extensive list of other benefits.

Dental The Dental Plan provides basic, preventive and major benefits to covered individuals. 

Hospital Confinement Indemnity In the event of hospital confinement of 14 hours or more payable benefits include daily confinement, surgery, ambulance and separate heart attack, stroke, coma and paralysis benefits. 

Hospital Confinement Sickness Indemnity This plan pays for confinement due to a covered sickness, benefits include physician visits, hospitalization, major diagnostic exams and surgical benefits.

Hospital Intensive Care The Personal Hospital Intensive Care Protection is designed to provide funds to help cover the extraordinary costs associated with a stay in intensive care.

Life Both term life and whole life insurance policies are offered as well as a combination of both. Policies automatically include Waiver of Premium benefit and an Accelerated Death Benefit. 

Short-Term Disability The Personal Short-Term Disability policy helps provide a source of income in case of disability due to sickness or off-the-job injury. 

Specified Health Event This plan provides hospital confinement and continuing care benefits when a covered person is initially diagnosed as having a covered life-threatening health event.  The covered health events include heart attack & bypass surgery, stroke, major organ transplant, coma, and renal failure.
